Yawning Herding Boy (Study after Mihály von Munkácsy)

This motif fascinated me, I had even initially believed that must be by Rembrandt or so. The painter Mihály of Munkácsy was unknown to me and I also found only this painting, which has this quality. I copied it on paper as a study. The most important thing for me was that you can perceive the dirt on his skin and clothes.

Dieses Motiv hat mich fasziniert, ich hatte sogar zunächst geglaubt, das muss von Rembrandt oder so sein. Der Maler Mihály von Munkácsy war mir unbekannt und ich habe auch nur das eine Bild gefunden, das diese Qualität hat. Ich habe es auf Papier als Studie kopiert. Dabei war mir vor allem wichtig, dass man den Dreck auf seiner Haut und Kleidung wahrnehmen kann.
