In this new series I use the white of the canvas. The face is painted with only burnt sienna and a little Van Dyck Brown. Everything lighter is painted with less color, but not lightened with white. This is also true for the rest. This creates a luminosity of color that cannot be achieved any other way. Corrections are not possible. The first brushstroke must sit. Only in the shoes is some white processed.
What is between two moments? Is it the moment? What happens there?
